Seed Hypermedia is building a decentralized web grounded in peer-to-peer collaboration, cryptographic identities, and object capabilities for secure permissions. But there's another core ingredient to fulfill the promise of the open web: distributed backlinks.
In the traditional web, backlinks helped websites get discovered. But in Seed, backlinks do more than help with discovery — they connect the network itself, enabling every Site to grow and learn from others, peer-to-peer.
The Link Forest is a living Site that links to all known Seed Hypermedia Sites. Every linked Site will automatically discover this Site as a backlink, and by doing so, discover every other Site it links to.
This creates a growing, decentralized map of the hypermedia web — not controlled by any platform, not centralized in any index — but emerging from mutual references, collaboration, and curiosity.
